I don't know who put me on a mailing list for updates on the London club scene, but they've missed their target market in a pretty profound way.

I've got one better than that. For years now, for reasons I can't even begin to fathom, I've been getting regular e-mails from a mailing list for professional magicians. Like Gob Bluth-type magicians.

I've got my mail trained pretty well now, and virtually all of them go straight to the junk folder. But occasionally one slips through, and it just baffles me.

On the flip side of the same coin, the company for which I work mails and emails to me promotions in which I cannot legally take part and invitations to become a customer They also mail credit card applications to my wife for a card she already carries.
