Picasso's Weird Period

In Barcelona's Museu Picasso, there is a room devoted largely to a series of drawings of (apparently) friends of the artist having (quite explicit) sex. The men are always identified by name; the women are always anonymous. The meaning and significance of these drawings goes unexplained in the exhibit.
