Guided by Voices, "Human Amusements at Hourly Rates"
My long-standing theory about Robert Pollard is that he can't tell his masterpieces from his failed experiments. I've often thought that if he could just bring himself to hold back from releasing one mixed record every year and instead pick the best stuff for one amazing record every three years, the band's reputation would be unassailable. But he doesn't listen to me, so this compilation will have to suffice.
